Description

When under memory pressure Linux might resort to swapping, this includes GPU resources for unified memory systems. Swap-in must happen before work is submitted to the HW and currently it has to happen while holding some locks. Since this is an expensive operation this can lead other processes to effectively wait needlessly if they contend on that lock. In this talk I will discuss how we solved this problem downstream on the msm driver for the Steam Frame and hopefully get a discussion started to solve it more widely upstream.
