May 29-31 | Nice, FranceThe Display Next Hackfest is an event where talented developers gather to explore the latest technologies and trends in the Linux Display Stack. The event has traditionally followed an unconference format where participants propose topics for presenting, roadmapping, discussing and examining together. It aims to unblock bottlenecks, design solutions, raise pitfalls and accommodate the needs of each layer of the display stack. This year's format: Thank you again to everyone who submitted topics for discussion! Days 1 and 2 will be dedicated to presentations and focused discussions on key topics including color management, display transport, variable refresh rate, Wayland protocols, and more. Day 3 will shift focus towards actual hacking and pushing through changes and implementations. That said, attendees are welcome to continue discussions during the morning of Day 3 as needed. VenueThis year's Hackfest, sponsored by Collabora, will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Nice, set against the backdrop of the picturesque French Riviera. Radisson Blu Hotel Nice, Sirocco room Coffee breaks with snacks will be provided throughout the day. Attendees are welcome to explore the many nearby restaurants and cafes for lunch. Unless specified otherwise, the Hackfest information will be shared in Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+02:00, Europe/Vienna timezone). Embedded Recipes 2026This year's Hackfest is co-located with the Embedded Recipes conference (May 27-28), bringing together multiple communities in one vibrant week of Open Source collaboration!
