Practical information
Most visitors to Canada require either a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), depending on nationality. Citizens of the US and a number of visa-exempt countries can apply for an eTA online; citizens of other countries will need a Temporary Resident Visa. Please check the Government of Canada's official entry requirements page well in advance of the conference, as processing times can vary and some visa applications take several weeks.
If your organization requires a formal invitation letter for a visa application, contact board at foundation.x.org.
You'll find a summary of sights and things to do on the Destination Toronto website.
Getting here
Toronto is served by Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), the country's largest airport, with extensive international and domestic connections. From Pearson, the UP Express train runs directly to Union Station in downtown Toronto in about 25 minutes (roughly $12–14.60 CAD one-way, discounted with a PRESTO card). From Union Station, Daniels Spectrum is a short subway/streetcar ride or a roughly 25-minute walk. Taxis and rideshares (Uber/Lyft) are also available at the airport and typically cost $50–70 CAD to downtown, depending on traffic.
Toronto is also served by Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) for some short-haul and regional flights, which is closer to downtown.
If arriving by train, Union Station is Toronto's main rail hub, served by VIA Rail (domestic) and Amtrak (from the US), and is well connected to the local transit network.
Getting around
Toronto's public transit is operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), which runs the subway, streetcars, and buses across the city. A single fare is currently $3.35 CAD (with free transfers), payable by tapping a credit/debit card, the PRESTO card, or the TTC's own PRESTO/contactless system. Daniels Spectrum is a short walk from the Dundas and King streetcar lines and the Castle Frank/Sherbourne subway stations (Line 2).
Toronto also has a Bike Share Toronto network with docking stations throughout downtown, including near Regent Park, a convenient option for short trips in good weather.
Both TTC and Bike Share Toronto routes/stations are well integrated with Google Maps and the Transit app.
Where to stay
Regent Park itself has limited hotel inventory, but downtown Toronto (a short transit ride or ~20–30 minute walk away) has a wide range of accommodation options. A few notable options within reasonable reach of the venue:
The Broadview Hotel
106 Broadview Ave, Toronto, ON M4M 2E5
Boutique hotel just east of downtown, close to the Dundas streetcar line.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown
108 Chestnut St, Toronto, ON M5G 1R3

There are also numerous chain hotels (Marriott, Sheraton, Delta, Chelsea, etc.) clustered around Union Station and the Financial District, all within easy transit reach of Daniels Spectrum. Short-term rental options (Airbnb/Vrbo) are also widely available in the Regent Park, Cabbagetown, and Downtown East neighbourhoods.
Note: this is not a list of hotels vetted or negotiated by the organizers. Please check reviews and current rates yourself. If a partner-hotel rate becomes available closer to the event, it will be added here.
