Description

Closed captions are an auxiliary stream that may contain subtitles, and other informational data along side the video frames they are associated with. For this talk, we will mostly talk about subtitling with both CTA-608 and CTA-708 data and look at some of the things that GStreamer can do with closed captions.

Speaker bio Matthew Waters is a GStreamer maintainer and has been contributing for more than 10 years. As of late he has been focusing his attention on producing a word class WebRTC implementation for GStreamer. He is also the author of the GStreamer Vulkan integration and has integrated GStreamer's OpenGL library with many other decoding, encoding and rendering technologies. Matthew is a Multimedia and Graphics developer for Centricular Ltd, an Open Source consultancy focusing on GStreamer, embedded systems and cross-platform multimedia and graphics.
