Description
IP cameras nominally share common protocols, but in practice every manufacturer and model deviates in its own way. Drawing on our experience building the Orchid VMS, this talk covers what a video management system must tolerate to work with the broadest possible range of devices, and the per-manufacturer and per-model workarounds we manage through a quirks system when tolerance alone isn't enough. We'll also discuss the interoperability patches we've contributed upstream to GStreamer's rtspsrc and our upcoming migration to rtspsrc2.
